Here at The Fermentary, we have always loved fermented foods predominantly for their taste and ability to enhance flavours. However, we know there is a plethora of health benefits that come with consuming a variety of fermented foods and having a healthy, diverse gut microbiome. We thought we should bring in a variety of experts into The Fermentary to share their knowledge on the strong link there is between our gut and our brain, skin, bones, menopause and more.
Beginning the series we have Dr Carol Gubert, a neuroscientist working with the microbiota-gut-brain axis and gene-environment interactions in brain disorders. She will talk about how the bugs that inhabit our gut can communicate with the brain and the therapeutical potential that targeting this ecosystem (e.g. with diet) can have in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders.
Join us for a relaxed presentation with a few fermented drinks and nibbles and time for questions.
